Green juice is an amazing morning warm up before breakfast.
It’s hydrating, gets into your bloodstream quickly (due to the lack of fibre) and gives you a quick hit of energy early on in the day. Not to mention all the nutrients you’re flooding your body with!
Here is how my morning routine goes:
- Warm lemon water as soon as I wake up, to rehydrate.
- Green juice – usually on the school run, it’s a great grab-and-go!
- Loaded oatmeal or a protein smoothie about an hour later.
The recipe below is the one I use most of the time. It gives one full glass, but I’ll usually double it up and make two morning’s juice in one go. The second will go in an airtight bottle for the next morning.
Want some variation? Try swapping out the apple and orange for carrot and beetroot for a gorgeous red juice!
